Frequently asked questions

Are furry friends allowed?

We LOVE dogs! For an additional fee, we welcome them to our hideaway. These trailers are built to last, but they are antiques and we must care for them as such. We ask that dogs remain on a leash at all times at Hammond Hill, you clean up after them and they abide by noise restrictions.

Are there bathrooms in the trailers?

All three Airstreams at Vintage Hideaway have compostable environmentally-friendly toilets located inside the trailers.

Can my guests bring their own tent to camp on the property?

Vintage Hideaway guests book an Airstream for themselves and their guests. Additional guests are not permitted to pitch and stay in their own tents on the property.

Do you offer early check-in?

We have a small housekeeping team and unfortunately we are unable to offer early check-ins at this time. If you arrive early, you are more than welcome to walk the grounds and enjoy a local craft beer at the on-site beer garden.

Do you offer late check-outs?

At this time we are unable to offer late check-outs. Please e-mail info@vintagehideaway.ca if you need to store your things before you leave after 11AM and we will try to accommodate your request.

How many people are allowed to stay in a trailer?

The Airstreams each sleep 2 - 4 guests. Please see the descriptions of each trailer to know exactly how many they sleep.

Is there cellular reception or wifi?

Cellular reception isn’t the strongest at Hammond Hill. Depending on your service provider you may not be well connected with the outside world during your stay at Vintage Hideaway (we like to think of it as a digital detox) and we do not offer WIFI at this time.

Is there heat in the trailers?

Each trailer is outfitted with warm blankets to help take the chill off on cold nights, but you are still sleeping in the great outdoors so we encourage you to pack and dress appropriately.

What do I do in the case of inclement weather?

While we certainly hope that you are blessed with sunny days during your stay at Vintage Hideaway, we want you to know that rainy days have their special charm in the tin can. Curl up in bed with a good book, enjoy local craft beer from on-site Broken Stick Brewery, or play some classic board games while listening to the special sound of rain on the roof.

When are you open?

Our season runs from May (Victoria Day) until the frost falls. Exact dates will depend on our dear friend, Mother Nature.

When I book my trailer will I have the area to myself?

One of our favourite parts of the camping experience is the sense of community. At Vintage Hideaway, you will have your own space in your Airstream, but the grounds are open for other guests to roam about. Each trailer has its own front area with lounge chairs, however when you book a single trailer, you will likely have neighbours. We hope you take the time to smile at the other guests.
